Producer Malt Academy

The Producer Malt Academy is a unique opportunity to learn about all aspects of the malting and brewing industry. The course is composed of hands-on and classroom sessions at the Canadian Malting Barley Technical Centre’s (CMBTC) state of the art pilot malting and brewing facilities.
The Producer Malt Academy will feature information on malt barley variety selection and management practices. Industry experts will be on hand to discuss the domestic and global malting and brewing industry, providing insights into end-use markets and industry trends. Through practical, hands-on sessions, barley quality specifications and quality evaluation will also be covered.
The information provided in this course is designed to bolster farmers’ understanding of the malting and brewing industries and provide insight into the newest malt barley production practices.
Additional Details: MCA will cover accommodation and fuel costs for attending farmer members. Meals will be provided during the event. A welcome reception for Producer Malt Academy attendees will be held the evening of Nov. 20, 2024.
Cost: Complimentary for MCA farmer members and CMBTC members. $75 for all other industry professionals.
