Background

This will be an exploratory project to identify mycoviruses causing hypovirulence in rust fungi to develop "virocontrol" biopesticides.

Objectives

  1. Establish a catalogue of mycoviruses from the 300 rust ioslates and correlate to the host virulence.
  2. Identify peptides with affinity to wheat flag leaves and urediniospores' surfaces using the phage display library.
