Sponsorship Policy

The sponsorship or donation opportunity must fit one or more of the following criteria:

Support personal and professional development of MCA farmer members.
Support development of the “next generation” who will contribute to Manitoba’s agriculture industry.
Support research and production extension initiatives in wheat (spring and winter), barley, sunflower, flax and corn in Manitoba and Canada.
Support research and production extension initiatives with a whole-farm focus.
Support market development initiatives in wheat (spring and winter), barley, sunflower, flax and corn industries in Manitoba and Canada.
Support advocacy initiatives.
Enhance future productivity and sustainability of Manitoba’s agriculture industry.

The following definitions apply within this policy:

Sponsorship: A financial and/or in-kind contribution to an organization, with MCA receiving promotional consideration in return.
Donation: A free or philanthropic contribution or gift to a charitable organization or public institution.

For events such as scientific conferences, priority will be given where the above criteria are met, in addition to the conference being held within Manitoba or Canada, having MCA-funded research included as part of the agenda and/or being attended by MCA staff or delegates.
The work done by local and regional groups and organizations is an important part of our farmer members’ strong ties to communities across Manitoba. However, requests such as sponsorship, donations, materials, prizes or giveaways will not be considered.
Project funding for research and market development will not be considered.
