Objectives

  1. Test hairy glume/awned lines for wheat midge deterrence and reduction in damage under controlled lab conditions
  2. testing wheat midge resistance and genetic mapping of resistance genes for egg antibiosis
  3. development of a spring wheat line that carry the hairy glume, awned and the Sm1 traits
  4. Compare the agronomics of the hairy glume/awned lines and the EA lines against the current wheat check
