Advocacy Partners’ Submissions to AAFC’s Canada Grain Act Review Consultation

Manitoba Crop Alliance engaged in Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s (AAFC) consultation on the Canada Grain Act review by providing support to our provincial and national advocacy partners, who have the expertise and capacity in policy review and development. Directors and delegates participated directly in our partners’ various working groups to provide farmer input into each organization’s respective submission.

MCA also encouraged its farmer members to engage in the consultation through our social and print media platforms.

SUBMISSIONS MADE BY OUR ADVOCACY PARTNERS:

  • Grain Growers of Canada (PDF)
  • Cereals Canada (PDF)
  • Keystone Agricultural Producers (PDF)

NEXT STEPS: The AAFC-led consultation was seeking views and ideas on how the Canada Grain Act and/or the operations of the Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) could better meet grain sectors’ needs. The online consultation closed April 30, 2021.

AAFC will compile the feedback received from the online consultation with a summary of the feedback to be published. Manitoba Crop Alliance will remain engaged through our advocacy partners and will continue to provide updates to our members.
