DESCRIPTION:Join the Canadian Grain Commission for a hands-on learning experience designed to help farmers sharpen their grain grading skills. \nCo-hosted by Manitoba Crop Alliance (MCA)\, Manitoba Pulse & Soybean Growers (MPSG) and Manitoba Canola Growers (MCGA)\, the Farmer Grain Grading Bootcamp will give farmers insight into the grain grading process through live grain grading demonstrations. Grain inspectors from the Canadian Grain Commission and other industry experts will discuss downgrading issues for each crop type and quality specifications required for grain selection. This event is a place to ask questions and learn more about grain grading. \n\n\nA free hot breakfast will be served at 8 a.m.\, with the program beginning at 9 a.m. The program will conclude at 12:30 p.m. \nTickets are $15 per person. Farmers who are members of MCA\, MPSG and/or MCGA will receive a rebate of $5 for each association they are a member of. If you are a member of all three\, this event is complimentary! \nThere is a limit of two tickets per farm. DESCRIPTION:The Producer Malt Academy is a unique opportunity to learn about all aspects of the malting and brewing industry. The course is composed of hands-on and classroom sessions at the Canadian Malting Barley Technical Centre’s (CMBTC) state of the art pilot malting and brewing facilities. \nThe Producer Malt Academy will feature information on malt barley variety selection and management practices.
